Eva Privacy Policy
Version of 28 October 2026. This is an English translation; in case of any discrepancy the Russian version prevails.
Eva is a voice assistant for Windows computers. This page explains in plain words what data Eva uses, what stays on your computer, what is sent over the internet and to whom, and how to delete it all.
Who processes the data
Data controller: Skiba Roman Petrovich, self-employed (professional income tax payer, Russian Federation), taxpayer ID (INN) 245510439490. Contact e-mail: evaassistant.help@yandex.ru. Purchase terms: Terms of Service.
1. In short
- Eva does not sell your data. The program has no ads, trackers or analytics (the website only has a visit counter, see below).
- Eva's memory, conversation history, settings and keys are stored on your computer, in the program folder.
- To understand speech and answer, Eva uses online services (speech recognition, a neural network). Which ones and what is sent is described below.
- A problem report is sent to the developer only when you ask for it: “Eva, report to the developers…”.
2. What stays on your computer
| What | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Memory about you (facts you told Eva) | so Eva remembers you | eva_memory.json |
| Recent conversation history | to continue the conversation after a restart | same file |
| Your voice sample (a numeric “fingerprint”) | to tell you apart from guests | program folder |
| Settings, city, service keys | for the program to work | eva_settings.json, .env |
| Logs | to find errors | eva_log.txt, logs\ |
| Last screenshot / camera frame | if you asked Eva to look | last_screenshot.jpg, last_camera.jpg |
Eva's voice (“HD voice” and the standard one) is generated on your computer.
3. What is sent over the internet, and where
Microphone and speech recognition
- While Eva is on, she listens to the microphone to hear her name.
- Speech recognition is currently done by Google (a free recognition service). ⚠️ In the beta version, all phrases the microphone picks up near the computer are sent to Google, not only those addressed to Eva: this is how she understands whether she was called. Eva does not act on phrases not meant for her, but writes a short text of them to the log on your computer.
- In future versions the name “Eva” will be recognised on the computer without the internet. Then only phrases said to Eva will go to Google.
- While Eva is speaking, microphone recordings are discarded.
Neural network (Eva's answers)
- The conversation text is sent to the Ollama Cloud neural network using your own key. Together with it go the date and time, your city (if set) and the facts from Eva's memory needed for the answer.
- If you have connected GigaChat (Sber), it may answer instead of Ollama.
Screen and camera — only when you ask
- “Eva, what's on the screen?” / “what do you see?” — one screenshot or camera frame is sent to Ollama Cloud to be described.
- Eva does not capture the screen or camera without your request.
Backup voice
- If Eva's own voice is unavailable, the text of her answer is voiced by a Microsoft service: the answer text is sent there.
Features you call yourself
| Feature | Service | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| Weather | wttr.in, met.no, Open-Meteo, OpenStreetMap | city name |
| Search, “what is…” | DuckDuckGo, Bing, Yandex, Wikipedia | search query |
| Currency and crypto rates | Central Bank of Russia (cbr-xml-daily), open.er-api, CoinGecko | currency name |
| Steam | Steam Web API | your Steam ID and Steam key (if you provided them) |
| Eva in Telegram | Telegram | your messages to the bot and Eva's replies |
| Open a website or YouTube | your browser | the address |
These services follow their own privacy rules. Eva passes them only what is needed for the answer.
4. Problem reports
- Sent only on your command.
- A report contains: your description of the problem; Eva and Windows versions; settings (without your city); recent errors; the last lines of Eva, avatar and panel logs.
- Before sending, Eva removes: e-mail addresses, phone numbers, keys and passwords; your Windows user name; phrases not addressed to Eva.
- Only the developer receives the report (via the support bot or evaassistant.ru) and uses it to fix the error. If there is no connection, the report waits in the
reportsfolder and is sent later.
5. Keys and passwords
Service keys (Ollama, Telegram, Steam) are stored in the .env file on your computer. Eva does not show them on screen, does not write them to logs and does not send them to the developer.
Never send the .env file to anyone, not even to the developer.
6. How to delete your data
- Memory and history: delete
eva_memory.jsonin the program folder (Eva will start getting to know you again). - Logs: delete
eva_log.txtand thelogsfolder. - Everything at once: uninstall the program and delete its folder.
- Data already sent to third-party services (Google, Ollama, Microsoft, Telegram) is kept under their rules and can only be deleted through those services.
Beta tester form on the website
On the “Beta test” page (in Russian) you can sign up as a tester. The form runs on Yandex Forms (data is stored in Russia). We ask for:
- your Telegram nickname — to contact you (we do not ask for your name, phone or e-mail);
- computer specs (graphics card, processor, memory, Windows version);
- beta testing experience, what interests you in Eva and how much time you can give.
Purpose: to select beta participants and contact them. Only the developer sees the answers; they are not shared. We keep them until the end of the beta, then delete them. To delete them earlier or withdraw consent, write to Eva support in Telegram.
Website visit statistics
To understand how many people visit the site and where they come from (YouTube, Telegram, search), the site uses Yandex Metrica. It collects anonymised data: pages opened, time spent, referring site, device and browser type, approximate city, and stores cookies in your browser. Session recording (Webvisor) is turned off. Metrica does not receive your name, phone or e-mail. The data is processed by Yandex LLC under its own rules. You can opt out: block cookies for this site in your browser or use a tracker blocker — the site will work as usual. The Eva program itself does not use this counter.
Buying a subscription
When you buy a subscription on the website or in the “Store” tab in Eva, we process:
- your e-mail — if you provided it, to send you the key and the receipt;
- order number, plan, term, amount, payment date and status;
- the key number and the number of computers it is activated on (for this Eva sends an anonymised computer identifier to our server).
Purpose: to issue the key, create the receipt, answer your requests and process refunds — that is, to perform the contract under the Terms of Service. We do not receive or store bank card data — payment is handled by the Robokassa payment service under its own rules. The receipt is created in the Russian tax service app “Moy Nalog” and transmitted to the tax authority.
Order data is stored on the project server in Russia only as long as needed to perform the contract and meet legal requirements. We do not share it with third parties other than the payment service and the tax authority, to the extent needed for payment and the receipt.
Your rights
You can find out what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw your consent — write to evaassistant.help@yandex.ru. We reply within 10 business days. Records of completed payments may be kept longer if the law requires it.
7. Children
Eva is not intended for children under 14 without adult supervision.
